THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HYDRAULIC SEALS AND PNEUMATIC SEALS

Hydraulic and pneumatic seals are sealing components used for applications with rotary or reciprocating motions, they are commonly found in cylinders. Hydraulics is liquid and pneumatics is gas. And the main difference between these two is, Hydraulic systems use liquids like water and oil to transmit power. Where pneumatic systems use air to transmit power. Hydraulic seals are intended for use in hydraulic cylinders and other types of high-pressure dynamic applications. Pneumatic seals are used in valves and pneumatic cylinders for applications requiring lower operating pressures. Certain applications also rely on hydraulic and pneumatic seals to separate fluid and gases, respectively. However, both seals can convert fluid power into linear movement. Take a look at some of the Hydraulic & Pneumatic products we stock.

WEITEN SEALS PROVIDE A SELECTION OF HYDRAULIC AND PNEUMATIC SEALS TO MEET YOUR NEEDS.

HYDRAULIC SEALS

ROD WIPERS: They prevent fluid or contaminant ingress into the application.

ROD SEALS: Help prevent fluid leakage in hydraulic cylinders at the rod gland.

DOUBLE ACTING PISTON SEALS: Contain pressure on both sides of a piston, which is applied from either direction. They have a symmetrical cross section and identical sealing functions in both directions.

SINGLE ACTING PISTON SEALS: They contain pressure on one side of a piston without leakage. It retains pressure from that direction, which then moves the piston along the cylinder.

ROD & PISTON SEALS: Are used to control the pressure in systems and prevent the gland from leaking.

WEAR RINGS: These seals can increase system pressure safety, while preventing issues with seal extrusion.

WEAR STRIP: This type of seal is used to guide piston rods and pistons in cylinders.  They act as a bearing service.

VEE PACKS: Are seals made of several vee rings. They are also compatible with single- and double-acting cylinders. They are often used with male and female adaptors.  One benefit is the field serviceability of this seal.

PNEUMATIC SEALS

ROD WIPERS: These prevent dust, dirt and other particles entering the system.

ROD SEAL/WIPER COMBO: They simultaneously operate the three functions of wiping, sealing, and fixing while maintaining low static and dynamic friction.

ROD SEALS: An Asymmetric lip U Seal. Designed to maintain lubricating film on the rod and minimize friction.

PISTON SEALS: Can be used in air lubricated or dry applications.

CUSHION/DAMPER SEALS: Pneumatic cushion seals function is to act as a check valve, so a separate valve is not necessary.
