Nature
The appearance is milky white, beige or light brown flakes or blocks. It is an elastomer produced by α-polymerization of chloroprene (i.e. 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene) as the main raw material. The solubility parameter of Chloroprene Rubber accounts for δ=9.2~9.41. It is soluble in toluene, xylene, ethylene dichloride, trivanadium ethylene, slightly soluble in acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, cyclohexane, insoluble in n-hexane and solvent gasoline, but soluble in a mixed solvent composed of a proper proportion of good solvent and poor solvent and non-solvent or a poor solvent and non-solvent. It swells but does not dissolve in vegetable oil and mineral oil.
Application
CR122 type Chloroprene Rubber: transmission belts, conveyor belts, wires and cables, oil-resistant rubber sheets, oil-resistant rubber hoses, sealing materials and other rubber products.
CR232 type Chloroprene Rubber: cable sheaths, oil-resistant rubber hoses, rubber seals, adhesives, etc.
CR2441 2442 type Chloroprene Rubber: raw materials for adhesive production, used for bonding materials such as metal, wood, rubber, and leather.

It has good physical and mechanical properties, oil resistance, heat resistance, flame resistance, sunlight resistance, ozone resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and chemical reagent resistance. The disadvantage is that it has poor cold resistance and storage stability. It has high tensile strength, elongation and reversible crystallinity, and good adhesion. It is resistant to aging and heat. It has excellent oil resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. Its weather resistance and ozone aging resistance are second only to EPDM and butyl rubber. Its heat resistance is equivalent to that of nitrile rubber, with a decomposition temperature of 230-260℃, a short-term resistance of 120-150℃, and a long-term use at 80-100℃. It has certain flame retardancy. Its oil resistance is second only to nitrile rubber. It has good resistance to inorganic acid and alkali corrosion. It has slightly poor cold resistance and poor electrical insulation. The storage stability of raw rubber is poor, which will produce "self-sulfurization" phenomenon, increase Mooney viscosity, and harden the raw rubber.
