SEALING INSERT BRAIDED WIRE - Gland Packing

03 - Dec - 2024

INTRODUCTION OF KNITTING WIRE INSERTS

The English name of Gland Packing is used to seal the shaft in order to solve the dynamic sealing structures, preventing the loss of fluid from around the shaft. In rotary motion the insertion braid plays an important role in the efficiency of pumps, mixers, valves and other industrial equipment. Braided wire inserts have long been the traditional sealing solution for many industries because of its versatile nature. Nowadays, with more stringent requirements on technical requirements, and the use of more media, the insertion braid is very diverse in manufacturers.

CLASSIFICATION OF BRAID INSERTS

Below are the most commonly selected types of braided braids used today.

PTFE Insert Braided Wire

PTFE insert braids are made of 100% virgin PTFE with high purity. PTFE is well-known for its resistance to chemical attack, low coefficient of friction, and high temperature resistance. Commonly used to work in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. In addition, PTFE Gland Packing are expanded in combination with a number of other materials to increase flexibility in a wide range of applications.

Graphite Lead Insert Braided Wire

Graphite lead insert braided wire is made from graphite fiber with a purity of up to 99%, the Gland Packing has a very low coefficient of friction, high thermal conductivity and sliding velocity, exhibits excellent chemical resistance and remains soft and flexible even under high temperature and pressure conditions. In addition, reinforced hardness, increased high pressure resistance of Graphite insert braided wire is expanded when combined with inconel thread, steel fiber and other material fibers

Gland Packing

To have a complete protective Gland Packing without leakage, follow the next guidelines:

Gland Packing

There should be no chemical reaction: the Seal of the gland should not react with the liquid, which must be sealed, as otherwise it will collapse, which will cause the outflow of liquid.

Antiriction characteristics. If friction occurs, the gasket seal will cut off the sleeve of the shaft or shaft and may also burn due to constant overheating.

Temperature Resistance: The Gland Packing should be resistant to the working temperature of the liquid at all costs.
